Thai Sour soup with vegetables and fried fish (Kaeng Som). The taste of the dish is led by the sour taste from the tamarind followed by saltiness and just a little bit of sweetness.
Ingredients for chilli paste25 big dried chillies
8 small dried chillies
1/2 cub shallots
2 clove garlic
1 finger root (about 5cm long)
1 tsp shrimp paste
Pinch of salt
Optional add boiled fish meat.
Vegetables: as your choice such as long bean, white radish,Chinese cabbage (Wombok), carrot, bok choy, cauliflower, orkra.
Seasoning: Tamarind sauce, fish sauce, sugar and stock powder (optional)
Protein: Fried fish or fish or prawns.
Note: this chilli paste recipe can use up to 1 litre of water. Today I only used half of it.
